For those who don’t know, the 41-year-old singer’s father, Mathew Knowles, had an affair with actress Alexsandra Wright in the late 2000s – while he was still married to Tina Lawson. She ended up getting pregnant and having their son, Nixon Alexander Knowles. Alexsandra served him legal papers in order to force him to take a paternity test, which inevitably proved he was the dad to Nixon.

When the affair and paternity scandal came to light, Tina and Mathew got a divorce. But his infidelity did more than ruin his marriage — it also ended his relationship with Beyoncé and her sister Solange. The Daddy Lessons removed Mathew as her manager, and the two siblings have been estranged from him ever since. They even refused to attend his wedding with Gena Charmaine in June 2022.

As for Alexsandra and Nixon? The now 13-year-old has no relationship with Beyoncé, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. In an interview with The Sun published on Saturday, Alexsandra shared that Queen Bey hasn’t reached out to either of them – despite living only ten miles away in California. And the reason for the lack of contact? The 52-year-old believes their still some healing that needs to be done following the cheating drama:

“She (Beyonce) is a billionaire and just bought the most expensive house in California, ten miles from where we live. But no, there has not been any contact. The pain still needs to heal.”

But unfortunately, Nixon has to suffer the consequences of her and Mathew’s actions. Alexsandra told the outlet her son’s estrangement with Beyoncé hurts, and he often questions why his half-sister doesn’t “love” him:

“My main concern has been dealing with a child that asks, ‘Why doesn’t that person love me? It’s a very human story and I sit in the bathroom and cry sometimes because I just don’t know how to help him be his own person.”

That’s heartbreaking to hear about Nixon. Alexsandra went on to say that he is constantly facing tough questions about his sibling in school:

“People will ask him straight up at school, ‘Are you the brother?’ Whatever they can Google they will ask him directly and even the grown-ups will take pictures of him. Nixon has never had the luxury of being a normal child. Being related to someone famous smothers kids like him and they lose their identity. They are so and so’s brother or stepkid. It’s hard for him to comprehend and he’s a quiet kid and very reserved.”

She continued:

“I tell him, ‘fame does not equal happiness’ so never covet what someone else has’. But it’s hard to see people living as billionaires. What does that kid think when I am working 16 hours a day and trying to get accounts paid? How does it feel? I think Beyonce is a lovely person and she has never done anything to harm me. I don’t want anything from them. I just want my son to be free and to have a happy life.”

Sadly, Beyoncé isn’t the only one with no relationship with Nixon. According to Alexsandra, Mathew has never met his child – although he does pay child support. Despite the sad situation, she holds out hope that Nixon will eventually meet his other family members:

“I believe our children and grandchildren will be much better human beings than we are. They have Snapchat and all that. I think they will find a way to open up and have that conversation.”

The Lemonade artist canceled a show with just a month’s notice, and the explanation is… a little shaky.

Queen Bey was meant to bring her Renaissance world tour to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 3. However, that show has now been canceled, according to Ticketmaster. What happened?! Well, the Acrisure Stadium released a brief announcement that was pretty short on details, saying:

“Due to production logistics and scheduling issues, unfortunately the August 3rd Pittsburgh stop of the RENAISSANCEWORLD TOUR will not be taking place. Refunds will automatically be issued at point of purchase.”

Refunds — but no talk of rescheduling at all. The show just won’t go on.

You’d think “production logistics and scheduling issues” would be reasons a concert would need to be moved to another date. A couple other shows from the tour were just shuffled around: Kansas City, Missouri’s show was pushed from September 18 to October 1, Seattle was moved a day from September 13 to September 14. It’s frustrating for fans who planned ahead, but it happens. A show being straight up canceled? That smells like something else. Low ticket sales, maybe?

According to a local outlet, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Acrisure still had THOUSANDS of tickets available. Not only that, they learned Ticketmaster was selling tickets as low as $50 a pop. That’s LOW for a Bey show. Remember, Ticketmaster charges based on the demand, squeezing every last dollar out of fans. Most of Beyoncé’s shows for this Renaissance tour have been minimum $269. So it sounds like they kept lowering prices because demand just wasn’t there in Steel City. But they couldn’t even fill the place for fifty bucks??

The stadium seats 65,050, so having a venue like that with thousands of seats open could potentially feel lackluster compared to other Bey shows. Playing to that kind of house could be crushing to an artist’s ego! What’s the simple answer? Cancel the show. Sure, you leave the poor fans who did buy tix in the lurch. But you keep your dignity intact. And hey, you get a nice three-day break between shows now, with nothing between Foxborough, Massachusetts on August 1 and Landover, Maryland on August 5.

Innerestingly, this would have been Bey’s first show in Pittsburgh in eight years. So yeah, we’re guessing some fans are pretty devastated right now. After all, no one can replace Beyoncé.

If you’ve been keeping up with the CUFF IT singer’s Renaissance tour, you probably know that like everything Bey does, it’s been pretty flawless. From her impeccable opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to bringing out her 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy to perform alongside her, it’s all been pitch perfect… That is until Sunday’s performance.

While taking the stage in Amsterdam, audience members quickly noticed the mother of three was “pissed” at her stage crew after they seemingly missed their cue to help her off her iconic Renaissance prop horse, Reneigh, leaving her to perform the entirety of Summer Renaissance while seated.

Oops!

One fan caught footage of the 41-year-old shooing away a crew member who reached up to help her down, before she pushed the rolling staircase away. Later in the performance, she can even be seen moving her microphone away from her face before seemingly mouthing, “Oh my god” at the crew. Watch the entire thing (below):

Twitter users quickly began sharing the footage and discussing the fate of the workers who Bey was so clearly upset with, writing things like:

On Monday, the performer sang an emotional rendition of River Deep, Mountain High during a stop in London amid her Renaissance world tour. According to a video shared by a fan account on Twitter, she sang a slower-tempo version of the 1996 hit while wearing a blue jumpsuit that featured a bulging waist and sheer train.

Though we have to admit, it kinda seems like Beyoncé hasn’t been informed of all the drama her first tribute sparked! This is the third time Queen Bey has paid tribute to the deceased singer since her death last week. The Simply The Best vocalist died on May 24 after a “long illness,” but her rep didn’t specify what illness. The Ivy Park founder also performed Proud Mary at a concert in Paris after the death was announced, telling the audience to “scream so [Tina] can feel your love.” She then opened up about how much the legendary musician meant to her, saying:

“If you’re a fan of mine, you’re a fan of Tina Turner. ‘Cause I wouldn’t be on this stage without Tina Turner.”

She continued:

“I feel so blessed that I was alive to witness her brilliance. I also feel very blessed to be here to perform once again.”

These performances come after the Grammy winner paid tribute to the 83-year-old in a statement after her death, but her remarks were quickly slammed when fans called out Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z for previously making a “mockery” of Tina’s history of physical abuse from her ex-husband Ike Turner. In their 2013 debut, Drunk In Love, the rapper says:

“Beat the box up, like Mike in ’97, I bite / I’m Ike Turner, turn up baby, no, I don’t play / Baby, no, I don’t play, now eat the cake, Anna Mae / Said eat the cake, Anna Mae!”

Anna Mae Bullock was Tina’s legal name. The cake reference relates to an alleged dispute between the couple in which Ike forced Tina to eat a slice of cake, even shoving it into her mouth when she refused.

Fans were upset by the reference and the Cuff It artist’s refusal to acknowledge her mistake while mourning the loss, saying online:

“All you need to do is watch What’s Love Got To Do With It to see where Jay Z got the ‘eat the cake, Anna Mae’ reference and that’ll make you sick to your stomach. Beyoncé was complicit because it was on HER song”

Earlier this week, the Crazy in Love collaborators dropped a whopping $200 million on an 30,000 square foot Malibu mansion right on the beach — the most EXPENSIVE home ever bought in the state of California, and the second overall in the United States, according to real estate sources via TMZ. Oh yeah, and they paid in all cash!

Impressive, right? Well, social media users aren’t quite as sold as the new homeowners.

One fan took to the bird app to share exactly how they felt about the tradition of celebs purchasing astronomically high-priced properties, in large part built with “concrete” — and how they just never look all that homey:

Tina Turner fans are coming after Beyoncé and Jay-Z!

The music icon sadly passed away on Wednesday at 83 years old after “a long illness.” Among the millions of fans mourning the singer were Queen Bey and her hubby. On her website, the Cuff It vocalist paid tribute to the late artist, writing:

“My beloved Queen. I love you endlessly. I’m so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience. You are the epitome of power and passion. We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done.”

A very sweet message… until you remember Beyoncé’s complicated history with the star!

Recalling a 2013 verse in the couple’s song Drunk In Love, loads of Tina Turner supporters called out the powerhouse duo for once making light of the alleged abuse Tina suffered at the hands of her husband Ike Turner. In the song, Jay-Z raps:

“Beat the box up, like Mike in ’97, I bite / I’m Ike Turner, turn up baby, no, I don’t play / Baby, no, I don’t play, now eat the cake, Anna Mae / Said eat the cake, Anna Mae.”
