They gave it their Best Shot…?
In case you didn’t know, country music star Jimmie Allen and his wife Alexis Gale have called it quits — but this split isn’t looking as amicable as they originally wanted us to believe. Last Friday the couple shocked their fans by posting to Instagram out of nowhere announcing their impending divorce — and simultaneously revealing they have a third child on the way! That’s a lot of announcement in one post! The statement read:
“After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”
The now former couple continued by saying they’d like privacy at this time:
“Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another. In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time.”

The couple got married in 2020 and share daughters Zara James, 1, and Naomi Bettie, 3, as well as Jimmie’s child 8-year-old son Aadyn from a previous relationship. It seemed to be a very calm and mutual split — at least until this week…
On her Instagram Stories on Monday, Lex shared an all black screen with only one sentence written at the bottom:
“The silence is loud enough for me.”
Damn! What??
Not only did the 27-year-old nurse hint at some serious trouble there, she made it obvious who she was talking about. She unfollowed her ex-hubby on the app! He seems to have not noticed yet, or at least he’s not unfollowed her back as of Wednesday evening. The couple have previously had some hard times, one of which being their baby girl Zara going completely unresponsive during a health scare last year.
On top of that, the country singer joked to Entertainment Tonight they were feeling “outnumbered” by their children at the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards, saying they didn’t want any more kids — or at least she didn’t:
“I retired my jersey … We threw around the idea of maybe having another one in like four years, we thought about it, we tossed around the idea. And then we closed the idea. Cause when it comes to babies, you know guys, we got the fun part … women gotta carry the baby. Give birth to the baby. But I’m cool if she’s done. My jerseys are retired, but then we did talk about maybe in a couple years having another one, but we’ll kind of just see. Whatever happens, happens.”
Alexis didn’t seem to be on the same page as Jimmie as far as welcoming more babies to the world. We wonder if the pressure of adding a sixth member to their family is what the breaking point was for their relationship… Or maybe it’s something else — something Jimmie is staying silent about…
