Earlier this week, Arlington, Texas based author Shawn Warner sat at a table in a local Kroger, ready to sign and sell copies of his new book, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor. However, he didn’t necessarily meet the crowd he was probably hoping for… that is until one passerby noticed he looked “defeated” and went back to chat him up a bit.

TikTok user @internetfamouslol, who simply goes by Red on the app, uploaded a video to his account in which he started up a conversation with the writer about his latest work. Shawn happily shared:

“It’s about a teenage girl who teams up with a ghost with multiple personalities to solve the mystery of her parents murder.”

He added it’s available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as in the Kroger he was at at the time, where he was signing copies.

Red then told the author that does “a little bit of TikTok and what not,” and that he wanted to purchase two copies: one for himself, and one to gift a follower. He noted he did not know Shawn, and the move was not a “sponsorship,” and that he just wanted to “show a stranger some kindness.” Watch the full clip (below):

As of now, the video has been viewed over 17.7 MILLION times on the app, and Mr. Warner’s book launched into Amazon’s top 10 bestsellers list — which is determined by overall number of sales, making the Texas native an overnight bestselling author Wow!!

In response, Shawn uploaded a TikTok of his own the following day, sharing:

“I want to thank everybody for the love and the kindness on the video that Red posted. It’s totally unexpected,  I’m in shock, I don’t even know what to say about it at the moment, I’m trying to wrap my head around it.”

Ever since he died in 2017, she often defended Hugh when his former girlfriends came forward about their negative experiences. But no more now! Crystal is done protecting her former husband!

She announced last year she was releasing a memoir about her life in the Playboy mansion. And now, we’re finally getting some more details about what’s on the pages of the book… Crystal did NOT hold back!

Speaking with Dailymail.com on Thursday, she admitted to lying to everyone in order to “protect” Hef.

Damn, wonder how Holly and the other girls must feel about this. But now that Crystal’s had time to reflect on her life with the magazine publisher, she’s ready to come clean about everything in Only Say Good Things! She explained to the outlet:

“My relationship and marriage to Hugh Hefner was a very complicated one. It was one where, no matter how I was treated, I always felt like I had to protect him, which is why I have not shared my story until now. Since his passing, I have had to do a lot of self-discovery. I have had to find out who I am without it being dictated to me. I have had to not only find my voice, but I also had to learn how to use that voice. My book is a testament to the power of time, processing all that I have been through and embracing my truth.”

Basically, she is done hiding “her story!” So what truths does she plan on revealing to the world? The outlet reported that Crystal will be going back to the beginning, talking about her first party at the mansion at 21 years old, and the moment Hugh “picked her out from the crowd” to become “one of his infamous ‘girlfriends’” before they got married in 2012.

And she isn’t focusing just on the glamorous parts of her life. Crystal is set to share with everyone how “the lifestyle that once seemed so alluring had a dark side.” She’s getting into everything from how her early years of adulthood were “stolen,” and the “toxic objectification and misogyny” she dealt with while living in the home.

As for her private life with Hef? The outlet noted that the book goes into detail about how he “governed the lives of his girlfriends with strict rules on everything from their looks to curfew with Crystal forced to compete with other women for her spot in the highly hierarchal system,” adding:

“She quickly rose to the top but being Hefner’s number one girlfriend came at the cost of Crystal’s identity outside her role at Playboy.”

Yep, Holly has said the same about all that for years, and now, she’s getting backup.

Crystal also pointed out that people “reveled in ridiculing her and the other young women which further chipped away at her self-worth.” Although the offer from Hef was “one she could not imagine refusing,” Crystal wound up losing her identity and desperately wanted “to understand who she truly was away from Playboy’s toxic culture.” Damn.

Colleen Ballinger is clapping back! On Thursday, the internet personality’s legal reps denied claims she was dressed “in blackface” during a resurfaced performance of Single Ladies in a statement to Variety. In the viral video, it appeared she had dark-colored paint on her face – and she did, per her legal team at the law firm Berk Brettler, but it wasn’t what it seemed.

They claim just before belting Single Ladies in 2009, Colleen took the stage with Oliver Tompsett to sing As Long As You’re Mine from Wicked. In honor of the musical, she painted her face green like Elphaba. She kept this same paint on as she immediately transitioned into performing Beyoncé’s song, which she always ended her shows with at the time because it was one of her most popular bits. To prove all of this, they even released an extended recording of the controversial show — which now includes the Wicked performance. You can see it HERE.

Amid allegations of racism and grooming young fans, the Miranda Sings star on YouTube is now coming under fire for seemingly wearing blackface in a resurfaced video. In a new clip circulating online, the comedian can be seen performing Beyoncé‘s hit Single Ladies with two others on stage. They all wear black bodysuits, but it’s just Colleen whose face is painted black.

The original video was actually posted on Miranda Sings’ official YT page in February 2018. It is only viewable thanks to a link released in her book, My Diarrhe, which may be why it didn’t generate a ton of backlash until now. It appears she gave the inappropriate AF performance during one of her comedy shows at the time.

This is never a good look, but it is made even more problematic knowing the string of other gross and disturbing allegations levied against the star in recent weeks. If you’ve been following this scandal, you’ll know this all began when a former fan, Adam McIntyre, called Colleen out for allegedly grooming young viewers, encouraging bullying, and asking minors about their sex lives, among other things. The 36-year-old clapped back by releasing a 10-minute video in which she addressed the claims via a cringe-worthy and tone-deaf ukulele song — no apology in sight!

Her former friend and collaborator, Trisha Paytas, then publicly blasted her while revealing Colleen used to share explicit photos of her with fans and hold viewing parties to mock her body. And this happened somewhat recently as she noted the influencer was “well into their 30s who just gave birth.” JFC. Also, April Korto Quioh, a former assistant to the writers and showrunner for Haters Back Off, the content creator’s two-season show with Netflix, spoke out. In a scathing blog post titled You Owe Me An Apology, April slammed the internet personality for alleged racism and inappropriate behavior on set.

For example, the assistant claimed Colleen allegedly insisted the show have limited background actors of color since the series took place in Washington and she thought it’d be “distracting” to have them around. She also demanded an Asian food market be “re-dressed as a bodega for the show and watched her disgust as she demanded assurance that all the ‘Asian s**t’ would be removed before filming.” WTF.

When addressing why all the leads of the show were white, April noted:

“I sat patiently as the Powers That Be expressed concern that the entire main cast for the show was white and silently prayed that since someone with some actual say had spoken up, things might change. And I took note, yet again, as Colleen assured them that they had only casted the best person for each role and that it wasn’t her fault that all of those people ended up being white.”

It gets worse, too. April included alleged screenshots of texts she sent a friend about the aforementioned audition process. In them, April recalls Colleen allegedly yelling out “Where is he” — “implying he is so dark skinned he disappeared.” She continued:

“I recall overhearing her once brag that a creator was being ‘cancelled’ for saying the n-word (and if you think she went with ‘n-word’ instead of hitting that hard ‘r’ then you haven’t been paying attention) and that she would never be stupid enough to get caught doing something like that.”

And now she’s seen performing in what appears to be blackface. Yikes. She better not address this with a freaking ukulele remix because these very serious accusations deserve an equally serious response! Reactions, Perezcious readers?

As Perezcious readers know, the couple sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March of 2021, during which they dropped a number of bombshells about the royal family. These accusations included the institution’s failure to help Meghan as she struggled with the media and her mental health, and an unnamed family member commented on the skin color of their then-unborn son, Prince Archie. It was an explosive interview, to say the least! And it no doubt ruined their relationship with the family.

Afterward, everyone was on the edge of their seats, waiting to see how the royals would respond. And when it finally came, people immediately took notice of a few words: “Some recollections may vary.” The statement read at the time:

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

Although the royal family’s official response came from the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Princess Catherine apparently had a huge part in shaping the statement behind the scenes! According to an excerpt in The Times from author Valentine Low’s new book Courtiers, there was originally a “milder version” of the statement that did not include the famous “some recollections may vary” line! An insider told him:

“It had a much milder version. The debate was, do your rise entirely above it and offer the olive branch of (Harry and Meghan being) ‘much loved members of the family’? Or is there some moment when you have to intervene and offer a view?”

Some in the palace were worried about starting a “tit-for-tat” situation with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But for William and Catherine? They did not approve of the tamer response to the matter and pushed for “toughened up” wording that made it clear the family did not agree with Meghan and Harry’s version of events – at all:

“They wanted it toughened up a bit. They were both of one mind that we needed something that said that the institution did not accept a lot of what had been said.”

According to Low, William demanded the courtiers come up with some way “of making sure that we are saying that this does not stand,” and Catherine was “right behind him on it.” Damn! They were really pissed about the whole situation, huh?! It was then that the future king’s private secretary, Jean-Christophe Gray, created the “recollections may vary” phrase. Once it was included, Catherine personally fought for it to remain in the final version:

“It was Kate who clearly made the point, ‘History will judge this statement and unless this phrase or a phrase like it is included, everything that they have said will be taken as true.’”

The scathing draft was sent to Buckingham Palace, with Queen Elizabeth giving her stamp of approval. And we all know the drama that has ensued ever since. Reactions, Perezcious readers? If you didn’t know, the rapper-turned-actor was coming up in the entertainment industry at the same time as drag legend RuPaul. Because of this, they once had the opportunity to work together, but the King Richard star got in the way.

In Thea Glassman‘s new book Freaks, Gleeks, and Dawson’s Creek: How Seven Teen Shows Transformed Television, which hit shelves on Tuesday, the executive producer of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, David Steven Simon, revealed he once pitched the idea of having RuPaul make a cameo on the sitcom — but Will hated it! David recalled:

“I remember him saying that would be a really bad idea. And I said, ‘No, listen, hear my story –.'”

The EP was especially thrown off because, while the comedian got to approve every storyline of the show, he rarely ever rejected any ideas! And yet here was an idea he was unwilling to listen to in full! Ultimately, the actor “refused” and “kept repeating that it was a bad idea.” When pressed why he thought Will was so against the appearance, David simply said:

“The reason he would say no is because of his image. Period. The End.”

Damn. That’s unfortunate! Ru would have been a fun addition to the show!

While RuPaul wasn’t the face of RuPaul’s Drag Race yet (it wouldn’t begin until 2009), he was making a name for himself with the release of his debut album, Supermodel of the World, in 1993. Specifically, the hit, Supermodel (You Better Work), was a radio success and hit No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Thankfully, the Fresh Prince’s ego didn’t stop RuPaul from getting on TV. Before Drag Race, he guest starred on shows like Sister, Sister, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Walker, Texas Ranger. In an interview with British outlet The I, Omid went on to claim his take on the monarchy is “spin-free” and that the royals “should not be above reproach.” Per The Telegraph, he said on Wednesday:

“Endgame not only looks at the successes of our Royal family but also the failures; the things to be proud of and those they should be ashamed of.”

They aren’t gonna be happy about that! On why the journalist believes it’s so important to look critically at the Brits, he continued:

“Precisely because this is an establishment that sits at the heart of our society, and a family that has often been held up as role models of civility and decorum, it’s more important than ever we can take an accurate look at whether that still holds today. Just like this country’s politicians, the royals are not, and should not be, above reproach – no matter how desperately certain press secretaries may want you to think so.”

Apparently, the publication date for the book was pushed back and many believe this was so Omid could include more information about King Charles‘ coronation, which took place in May. As we all know, Harry made a mad dash to the UK to be there in person but didn’t interact with Charles or Prince William. Meanwhile, the Suits alum stayed home in California.

If you recognize the author’s name, it’s because he previously penned Finding Freedom with Carolyn Durand, which focused on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It’s been speculated that he may have collaborated with Meghan on the project since the book offered a very kind take on her amid controversy. Also, it is widely known that he is one of the only journalists Harry and Meghan are close to after moving to the US. So, he’s got a very inside look at their lives!

Interestingly, not everyone is so pleased with Omid’s new book — or the fact he’s claiming to be a neutral source. Royal commentator Esther Krakue told Sky News Australia last month:

“His rise to fame has been quite remarkable. He always has been in royal reporting territory. He worked for Harper’s Bazaar and Us Weekly but his proximity to the Sussexes is quite curious. I suspect that the reason why they brought him on board is because of his experience in royal reporting.”

While Omid hasn’t been actually hired by the couple in an official capacity, he does always seem to have their talking points first before anyone else amid any kind of scandal, making their ties very clear. While it might help at times to have a direct link to the press, Esther doesn’t think the reporter can truly help Harry and Meghan since their “popularity is still very low.” She explained:

“Unfortunately his proximity to the Sussexes hasn’t really paid off in the way that it should. Their brand is quite unsalvageable at this point. They’ve become effectively a laughing stock. I think it is quite odd to say he has no vested interest in the couple. Of course, he does. He has the inside scoop he co-wrote the book Finding Freedom which was a tone-deaf whinge fest.”

But after reading these accounts, we’re not sure those quotes are even in the top 3 most unethical we’ve learned about this week!

A former Trump administration official named Miles Taylor has a book coming out next month called Blowback: A Warning to Save Democracy from the Next Trump, and it’s apparently a scorcher! Among other scathing rebukes of the former POTUS — from an insider’s point of view — there are apparently a ton of never-before-heard examples of 45 being sexist and gross.

The one-time chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security told Newsweek:

“There still are quite a few female leaders from the Trump administration who have held their tongues about the unequal treatment they faced in the administration at best, and the absolute naked sexism they experienced with the hands of Donald Trump at worst.”

Taylor spoke to others who spent time in Trump’s inner circle — or inner oval as it were — and the ick factor may go beyond even his infamous “grab ’em by the p***y” hot mic moment. The worst of it? He writes in an excerpt obtained by the outlet:

“Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump’s breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter.”

Ugh, we’re just going to go pull a J.Law, don’t mind us…

BTW, John Kelly was Trump’s White House chief of staff from 2017-2019. He served the man up close, and even he was shaken to his core by the incest talk. Taylor writes:

“Afterward, Kelly retold that story to me in visible disgust. Trump, he said, was ‘a very, very evil man.'”

This, of course, is not the first time Trump has made questionable comments about his own daughter — just the worst. When he knew he was being recorded he’s said plenty that hinted at this disgusting way of thinking.

BLECCHHHH…

Perhaps not surprisingly, Trump’s ridiculous cult is even defending this. Not by saying it was made up, mind you. No, we mean defending a man saying this stuff about his daughter! One wrote on Twitter:

“What Donald Trump said out loud, millions of fathers with gorgeous, sexy daughters think about. You think fathers whose daughters end up in Playboy or are actresses/models who use their sex appeal to promote their attributes don’t fantasize about them? It’s called being human.”

We wish we were making this up. We do NOT have the imagination, we assure you.

This man’s followers have been trained to defend everything. The LGBT community is evil, and nothing but “groomers” — but oh actually daddy-daughter incest when Trump does it? Oh, that’s just “being human.” Just disgusting.

Continuing on, the reality star teased his upcoming book Nine Lives and Counting, where he says he’s going to give the full story about Jon:

We can only assume this means we’ll hear the entire account of Jon’s birth, his mother, AND how they found each other again decades later! Both Stassi and Kristen were fired at the same time, but the latter has since appeared on the show amid Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’ affair drama.

In the years since, Stassi has been apologetic about the ordeal… but she’s also continued to dredge up — and profit off of! — the drama by sharing the story in her second New York Times best-selling book, Off With My Head, which hit shelves last year. And Faith has had enough of that!

On her new GoFundMe page, she explained the situation, saying:

“Hi! My name is Faith Stowers. As you may know I was former cast member on a television series called Vanderpump Rules. During my time there I was publicly targeted and mercilessly verbally attacked by Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute on multiple public platforms. These two women used their privilege and celebrity to try and tear me down at very sad time in my life and the Country. During that time I was also racially targeted and wrongfully accused of horrendous crimes that I have since been vindicated from.”

Seemingly letting Kristen off the hook, she turned all her attention onto Stassi, adding:

“Since Kristen’s accepted apology, Stassi Schroeder has written a NY times best seller book recently and has made more terrible non factual claims about me once again. After all she has done she continues to stand by her ignorant claims that are very harmful to me and my family. I’m seeking assistance with my legal team to get this book removed and all royalties/funds collected from this book be given to charity or assisting a family of choice. Thank you for your support always. And thank you all for standing up against bullies and racial division.”

Faith is asking for $20,000 to help with her legal fees. At the time of this writing, she has only received $705 in donations. Seems like folks don’t want to crowdfund efforts to sue. Huh. You can check out the fundraiser HERE.

Fans have had lots of THOUGHTS on this impending court battle, with many taking to Twitter to support Faith’s actions, saying:

“I always felt bad that Faith got caught up in the actions of racists, and then had to watch them face minimum consequence. However she plans to sue, I hope justice is served.”

“Stassi and Kristen did not think for one minute what calling the cops and reporting a Black woman as matching the description of a wanted robber could do. Their s**tty racist ‘prank’ could have gotten Faith killed and they should have been prosecuted for false reporting.”

“Everybody bashing faith rn saying ‘didn’t faith sleep w/ jax’ when this ain’t about him. This is about stassi and kristen calling the cops on a Black woman for a crime she didn’t commit that could’ve led to something terrible happening”

That said, not everyone is supportive of the GoFundMe page, arguing:

“This can’t be real. If Stassi was still saying some racist rhetoric, FANS would know. Stassi is married and pregnant w/ her 2nd child. Faith sounds like she’s looking for a payday from a story that’s dead & buried. Looks like a serious cry for help”

“Stassi is a basic racist b*tch for sure, but I have had my fill of the GoFundMe’s for every damn thing. Good luck, Faith, but I’m out.”

“Girl what? It’s been years. This isn’t gonna do what u think it will. More ppl will prob buy her book.”

“She apologized, grown from it and has moved on. You should do the same for your own peace of mind.”

“Now that VPR is in the news, here you are trying to cash in SAD AND THIRSTY”

If you haven’t been following this wild true crime story, Kouri Richins has been accused of murdering her husband Eric Richins, 39, on March 3, 2022, by lacing his Moscow Mule with lethal amounts of fentanyl. Five times the lethal amount! He drank the cocktail while celebrating a recent real estate deal and was pronounced dead just hours later.

The couple had three children. The accusations were a shocking twist as Kouri had achieved a minor amount of celebrity for writing a children’s book about grief to help her kids process the loss of their father. The book, titled Are You With Me? was released about a year after her husband’s death. It has since been pulled from Amazon, for obvious reasons. She was reportedly working on a second book titled, Mom, How Far Away is Heaven?, per KCPW News.

To prove how mind-boggling this case is, authorities claim Kouri threw a party at the couple’s house the day after the murder! WTF?! She was ultimately charged with one count of first-degree aggravated murder and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in connection with the death.

Sadly, according to family members, Eric said he believed his wife had tried to poison him previously. He even had her removed as a beneficiary of his will and life insurance policy before he died, replacing her with his sister, after she allegedly tried to change a life insurance policy and withdraw money without his knowledge. Similarly, he suspected Kouri may have been having an affair.

That’s already a lot to show a jury. But it gets worse. Police also searched her iPhone for evidence — and what they found is jaw-dropping.

Ahead of her detention hearing in Park City, Utah on Monday, authorities released her alleged cell phone history, featuring some harrowing searches ahead of the killing. Obtained by CNN on Friday, the iPhone search history features articles about fentanyl, life insurance payments, and murder investigations. Prosecutors called the searches “incriminating” as they allegedly include phrases like: “can cops force you to do a lie detector test,” “Luxury prisons for the rich in America,” “death certificate says pending, will life insurance still pay,” “If someone is poisoned what does it go down on the death certificate as,” and “How to permanently delete information from an iPhone remotely.” Yeesh! Those certainly seem like specific searches. You can read them all HERE.

As to be expected, Kouri’s legal team is clapping back in court. Per CNN, her defense wrote in a motion that “law enforcement never identified or seized any fentanyl or other illicit drugs from the Family Home,” adding:

“The State has provided no evidence that there was fentanyl found in the home. Nor have they provided any evidence that Kouri gave Eric the fentanyl at issue.”

They went on to claim prosecutors “worked backward in an effort to support” the notion she killed her husband, local network WJW reported. That said, officials have previously revealed they found dozens of texts between Kouri and an acquaintance she was allegedly buying drugs from, per previous court docs.

The seller claimed she purchased hydrocodone from them some time between December 2021 and February 2022 before reaching out weeks later looking for “some of the Michael Jackson stuff.” She allegedly obtained 15 to 30 fentanyl pills worth $900 in February 2022.

Per Law & Crime, C.L., a woman who “from time to time over the years, provided housekeeping services for Kouri and was paid by check for doing so,” allegedly bought the drugs that killed Eric. She is now cooperating with the police and her testimony was used on Monday; Kouri’s team argued it wasn’t trustworthy. They’ve said all the evidence thus far is circumstantial. The controversial writer’s attorneys went on to request she be released on bail during the trial while. A judge denied the request. We wonder if her iphone searches included articles about “extradition”… Kouri has not entered a plea yet, but the way her defense is going it’s a sure bet she’s going to plead not guilty, right?
