As we’ve been reporting, OceanGate Expeditions has been left reeling after its Titan submersible imploded late last month during a voyage down to view the wreckage of the Titanic in the North Atlantic Ocean. And now, it appears they are closing up shop — at least for the time being.

According to multiple media reports late on Thursday, a new statement was posted on the company’s website at some point in the last day. In a banner note across the very top of the site, the statement very simply read:

“OceanGate has suspended all exploration and commercial operations.”

As of Friday morning, the website itself was suddenly and entirely unreachable, as well.

Of course, OceanGate lost its CEO, Stockton Rush, in the tragic implosion. Along with him, diver and submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet was killed, too, along with tourist passengers Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood, and his teenage son Suleman Dawood.

The company had been planning dives with other submersibles in the near future, including a trip to the Azore Islands later this month. They also recently came under fire for both promoting future trips down to the Titanic as well as advertising job listings for submersible pilots very soon after the tragedy.

However, that all appears to have been scrapped — at least for the time being. It is unclear if they are considering a return to diving on future projects or not.

Now, as it turns out, comedian Carrot Top was on that plane, too. And he’s speaking out about what happened during that extremely unsettling pre-flight incident!!

So, first, the brief backstory. The woman was on a flight out of DFW that hadn’t yet left the gate when she started walking to the front of the plane while yelling.

According to the since-scrapped TikTok vid, the woman walked into the first-class section of the plane, and then turned around and pointed to the back.

While looking back there at what was apparently an imaginary person, according to multiple media reports, she yelled:

“I’m telling you, I’m getting the f**k off, and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f**k off, and everyone can either believe it or they can not believe it! I don’t give two f**ks! But I am telling you right now, that motherf**ker back there is not real! And you can sit on this plane, and you can f**king die with them or not! I’m not going to.”

OMG…

After the vid started going on viral on Sunday, the TikToker who took it deleted their entire account, per the New York Post. You can see a re-posted copy of the shocking clip HERE, though, if you’re curious. It’s intense!!!

Per multiple media reports, she then was removed from the flight. And so were all the other passengers, too. American Airlines had everybody get up, get off, and re-group at the gate. After a long delay that lasted well over three hours, per TMZ, the flight apparently did eventually take off. Then, thankfully, it reached its scheduled destination late that night, which turned out to be… Orlando?!

We know that because as we mentioned (above), Carrot Top was on the initial flight and saw the whole thing go down just like everyone else sitting patiently in their seats. And he later shared a couple Instagram videos from the central Florida city very late on Sunday night in which he recounted his experience on the fateful flight itself.

According to one video from the 58-year-old comedian, the unidentified woman “lost her ear bud,” and that’s what caused the freakout:

“Well, this is why we’re all sitting here in Dallas now, because she lost her ear bud. Seriously.”

In the caption of the post, he added:

“I hope she’s happy!!! We’re all stuck in Dallas now because of her.”

He made that commentary while posting a re-share of another passenger’s apparent video of the unsettling incident, as you can see (below):

Damn!!

Then, in a later video taken while he was lying in bed that night at the end of the very, very long travel day, the veteran stand-up comic added more context.

He called the woman in question a “f**king nut job,” and claimed it was a “little stunt” that she pulled to disrupt the flight:

“My hat’s off to everyone at American Airlines today for how they handled the situation. A f**king nut job just lost her mind in front of the whole plane. And five hours later, we’re here in Orlando. I hope you’re having a relaxing evening behind bars in Dallas, Texas, and I hope you enjoyed your little stunt.”

Then, he added:

“Anyways, I missed the fireworks and everything tonight, but we’ll catch up tomorrow. OK, I’m going to bed.”

Well, whether it was a stunt like Carrot Top apparently believes, or a true mental health emergency, it was definitely distressing to watch either way. We can’t imagine what it would be like to be on that plane in that moment… We just hope this woman involved got either some legal consequences for that “stunt,” or some serious mental health help if it were distress. Ya know? Hopefully there are capable professionals around to address it either way. Ugh!

The Titan’s tragic implosion has been the talk of the world lately, with new information coming out every day on what went wrong and how the five passengers — OceanGate CEO Stockon Rush, Brit billionaire Hamish Harding, French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and father-son duo Shahzada and Suleman Dawood — met their fate. In a new interview with the New York Times, though, we’re getting a better idea from Shahzada’s widow Christine Dawood about how the passengers likely spent their last moments alive.

Christine said she and her 17-year-old daughter Alina were on the ship known as the Polar Prince that carried the submersible out to the location it was meant to sink down to the wreckage from. The mother recalled how on Father’s Day they arrived at the mothership of the operation in Newfoundland, and they were given a debrief on the plans for the expedition. During the debrief, she seemed impressed with how knowledgable everyone was — no crew member gave any inkling that something may go wrong:

“It was like a well-oiled operation — you could see they had done this before many times.”

She revealed how the crew advised all passengers to wear thick hats and socks due to the quickly-dropping temperature of the ocean and condensation that would likely pool at the floor, as well as eat a “low-residue” diet with no caffeine before the launch. There’s no bathroom in the submersible, so it’s important to use the bottle and camp toilet they brought on board as infrequently as possible.

Christine went on to explain how they were told the sub’s lights would be off until they reached the Titanic wreckage so they could conserve battery, meaning their descent was nearly pitch black. They were told they had a chance at seeing some bioluminescent deep sea creatures, though.

The trip was set to last about four hours, so the CEO told the passengers to load their favorite songs onto the sub so they could listen to music during the slow descent, although he did make a note that no country music was allowed. Sadly, they would only get about an hour and forty-five minutes into their trip before the implosion happened — instantly killing all five passengers. Their final moments were likely spent having no idea what was coming, in the darkest dark, listening to their favorite music.

But this image still shows just how dark and cramped it is in the submersible! It’s unreal to imagine it being totally black in there, and only hearing music from the speakers. So eerie!

Christine recalled how the entire time leading up to the trip, Shahzada and Suleman were “excited” for the expedition. She also recalled how they barely made it in time, due to their flight to Newfoundland being canceled, and then their back-up flight being delayed:

“We were actually quite worried, like, ‘Oh, my God, what if they cancel that flight as well?’ In hindsight, obviously, I wish they did.”

Just heartbreaking…

The Dawood matriarch went on to describe her husband’s joy for the upcoming trip, regardless of any setbacks or extra tasks — according to her they had to stay in bunk beds on the Polar Prince and endure TWELVE hours of meetings every day, along with being offered to watch James Cameron‘s Titanic multiple times — ironic considering what the director thought of the expedition’s safety standards:

“He was like a vibrating toddler … [Shahzada said] ‘Oh, my God, this is so cool’ … He was lapping everything up. He had this big glow on his face talking about all this nerdy stuff.”

Stockton also told stories of the deep sea to entertain the tourists. Many of the meetings featured the ins and outs of how the engine worked, as well as how the sub was put together, according to Christine:

“That engineering side, we just had no idea. I mean, you sit in a plane without knowing how the engine works.”

We bet Rush didn’t tell them he’d “broken some rules” in how he built the damn thing. Recalling what Shahzada said the day before the expedition that would ultimately end in his untimely death, Christine added:

“It was a good morning. [Shahzada repeated] ‘I’m diving tomorrow! I’m diving tomorrow!’”

So, so sad.

Our hearts continue to be with Christine and the families of the victims.

The pop star hasn’t seen them in months, per TMZ, and with 17-year-old Sean Preston and 16-year-old Jayden James planning on a major move to Hawaii with dad Kevin Federline, that drought could get even longer in very, very short order.

According to the news outlet, insiders with “direct knowledge” of the situation regarding K-Fed’s move claim that Sean and Jayden are going to “make their own decisions” on whether they want to meet up with their super-famous momma and say goodbye before their August transition to island life.

The outlet reports that Federline himself is not going to force the boys to see Britney before they move to Hawaii. And he’s also apparently not going to keep the boys away from the Toxic singer, either. Per that news outlet, the ball is in the teens’ court as to whether they meet up with their momma before moving off the mainland with Federline and his wife Victoria Prince.

As for Sean and Jayden, it sounds like they don’t yet know what they will do. The outlet also reported early on Monday morning that the boys “haven’t yet decided” whether they will physically meet up with the Baby One More Time singer prior to their move to the tropical paradise. They’ve got more than a month to figure that out, of course. But still — that’s not an easy decision for anybody in this situation.

Of course, as we’ve previously reported, Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan reached out to Spears through her attorney Mathew Rosengart back in May requesting permission to move Sean Preston and Jayden James to Hawaii for a new beginning along with Prince.

Spears’ attorney came back with an eventual approval of that ask, confirming the pop princess would not fight the cross-ocean move. And as the calendar turns to July and the major expedition draws closer, it’s very much front-and-center for those who have followed Britney’s story for a while now.

As Perezcious readers may recall, Britney has been posting loving tributes to her kids, including calling Sean her “first love,” after news of the planned move first broke. Clearly, it can’t be an easy time for her with all this going on.

Adding to their seemingly endless financial burdens, this time Kim Zolciak is being sued by retail giant Target — and they’re not cutting her any slack! According to legal docs obtained by TMZ on Friday, the bullseye has their sights set on the Bravolebrity for an unpaid credit card bill. Yeah, it’s sad to say we aren’t surprised to read that…

Via Target National Bank, the bank that does all of Target’s financial work with their RedCard credit cards, Kim allegedly didn’t pay off a nearly $2.5k bill! Even though that seems like a puny amount compared to the $1 million she and Kroy allegedly owe the IRS, to them it’s 2500 bucks! So yeah the corporation is still taking her to court over it! And they mean business!

The docs state the Real Housewives of Atlanta star got a RedCard membership way back in 2007, and only recently faltered on the bill, with her last payment of $500 being back in September 0f 2022. Now, just two months shy of a year without payments, Target wants to know where their money is. The bank tried to settle the matter by demanding her payments, but when that didn’t work, they pulled the trigger and went to court. Now they’re after Kim for the entire $2,482.24 balance PLUS interest… yeesh.

This news breaks just DAYS after we reported Kroy is getting sued, too! The former NFL linebacker got his Rolls Royce repoed after he missed his lease payments, and then things only got worse when Sky Warrior filed a suit against him. Allegedly, he has a $52.5k unpaid credit from Baha Mar Casino in the Bahamas — which really makes Kim’s $2.5k bill look laughable in comparison! And he’s been getting on her case about the spending…

But just like his estranged wife, rather than tackling the issue head on, he allegedly left the casino without paying! Sky Warrior tried their best to get their money back, but to no avail — and now they’ve decided to sue him for the entire amount he owes plus interest AND attorney’s fees.

Funny these lawsuits hitting both Kim and Kroy at the same time — while they’re too busy blaming each other for all the financial problems!

It seems like these financial struggles are an endless nightmare for Kim and Kroy… We wonder what their next move will be! Reactions, Perezcious readers?

The 64-year-old queen of pop was briefly hospitalized over the weekend after falling ill with a “serious bacterial infection.” The good news is that she is already back home and resting, per doctor’s orders, but her condition sounds very severe. According to some sources, the infection reportedly grew worse as Madonna chose to ignore her month-long symptoms and focus all her energy on prepping for her upcoming tour — putting in 12-hour days and working until 3:30 in the morning!

On Friday, a friend of the Queen of Pop’s told Page Six that Madonna “has always been a perfectionist” when it comes to her work, sharing:

“She is the one constantly pushing herself, but she has to realize that, while she is as good as the people she is working with, many of them are a fraction of her age and without her history of injuries. […] Of course, there are other acts older than her still on the road, but they aren’t dancing and performing like she does.”

That said, the insider stressed that the kind of infection Madonna contracted was NOT due to the rehearsals, saying:

“But while this sort of illness could affect anyone of any age — and she certainly did not bring this on herself — it is also a reminder that she is as human and as frail as the rest of us.”

Madonna, on the other hand, seems to think she’s invincible. Or she did before she got sick! Some sources told the outlet the Material Girl artist was insisting on longer rehearsals, even against the better judgment of those around her.

Discussing why the tour is so important to the Grammy winner, her bestie dished:

“She knows how much her fans [have] been looking forward to this retrospective tour — it’s sold out around the world — and she wanted to give them her best. Seeing how well the tickets had sold had really motivated her because it showed how much people wanted to see her. She really led the way for shows which were as aesthetically entertaining as musically and she doesn’t want to disappoint her fans. But she maybe has to learn that while she has incredible stamina, she demands too much from herself.”

At the end of the day, her fans just want her to be happy and healthy! Her well-being is all that matters now. When the time is right and she is back to full strength again, we have no doubt she’ll put on an incredible concert!! Speaking of, a source close to the production said the rehearsal schedule was actually designed to simulate the hours the performer would be working during the tour. Because of this health challenge, the friend thinks they will need to add more “rest days” into the travels:

“They were going in hard because they wanted to see if she could handle performing most nights — now they are going to have to rethink the whole schedule.”

They added:

“If they need to take more dates out, they will. The most important thing is she recovers well and doesn’t get ill again on the tour.”

According to their website, they’re still booking trips for expeditions to the Titanic wreckage, and for $250,000 (and maybe some bad judgment) you can be one of the people on their infamous submersibles.

The eight-day, seven-night trips are listed as a 17+ event on the website, which states:

“Follow in Jacques Cousteau’s footsteps and become an underwater explorer — beginning with a dive to the wreck of the RMS Titanic. This is your chance to step outside of everyday life and discover something truly extraordinary. Become one of the few to see the Titanic with your own eyes.”

The site goes on to detail the expedition, but conveniently mentions nothing of the Titan disaster:

“Intrepid travelers will sail from the Atlantic coast of Canada for an 8-day expedition to dive on the iconic wreck that lies 380 miles offshore and 3,800 meters below the surface. You dive will provide not only a thrilling and unique travel experience, but also help the scientific community learn more about the wreck and the deep ocean environment. Every dive also has a scientific objective and you can learn more about the research we support here.”

Oh yeah, they still have dates available for 2024, too, in June! From June 12-20 and 21-29, they’re still accepting inquiries for their dives. We’re hoping this is just an oversight due to their major loss, because not only are their 2024 dates still available, their 2023 expedition is still listed as “currently underway.” Yikes…

In Monday’s episode of his podcast, And That’s What You REALLY Missed, which he co-hosts with his friend and co-star Jenna Ushkowitz, the actor recalled when he was exhibiting some unusual behavior and his pals stepped in to help him!

Kevin began by recalling a trip the entire cast took to London in 2010 in between filming two episodes at the same time. He asked Jenna:

“You had an intervention with me. Do you remember this? We had just started filming the Super Bowl episode.”

The 35-year-old, who played Artie Abrams, said he was feeling very unwell amid the jam-packed schedule, so he was placed on some strong medicine:

“I was sick as a dog on all kinds of medicine, including Prednisone, which is a steroid and it turned me into a monster.”

At first, he was actually happy to be using the drugs since it “gave me the courage” to “fight” for his solo in the show’s Thriller/Heads Will Roll mashup. But those around him were starting to notice something was off — and they told him! He continued:

“Cory [Monteith] and I had dinner together and you and Naya [Rivera] were one over from me, I think, and you were all like, ‘So hey, so why are you taking these steroids?’ And I go, ‘Because I’m sick and I’m supposed to take them.'”

But Jenna and Naya saw the situation differently and told him to stop taking the steroids immediately, even though he technically still had a few more left per the prescription. He recalled them urging:

“You’re not sleeping. You’re acting crazy. You need to stop taking them.”

The actresses suggested he simply take the antibiotic he was also prescribed, and Kevin quickly realized their concerns were very real. He acknowledged:

“I hadn’t slept in days. I was losing my mind.”

Yikes!

All ’cause he was put on some meds to handle an illness! Wow!

Somewhat cryptically, Jenna, AKA Tina Cohen-Chang, said that was “the beginning of the steroids for you,” but she quickly noted the medicine was “needed, needed, necessary, [and] prescribed.” Still, it was alarming how much the Prednisone had impacted the American Horror Stories alum’s temperament. He’s now glad he took his friends’ advice, expressing:

“It was a hard lesson to learn.”

Thank goodness he had friends looking out for him! It sounds like he was able to get a handle on his steroid use before it became a problem, but you never know what could’ve happened if someone didn’t encourage him to lay off the meds. Drugs hit everyone differently, and you never know if you’ll have a bad reaction until you’ve had one. So you really have to listen to your body. AND to your friends!

As Perezcious readers know, any drug issue is especially harrowing for the cast considering Glee’s leading man, Cory, passed away suddenly in 2013 due to a drug overdose. Learning they were trying so hard to look out for one another around that time? So, so sad. Thoughts? Let us know (below).
