Actress Miss Benny brought the unfortunate news to TikTok‘s attention in a new video on Thursday in which she broke down what it was really like to step foot on the set of the Full House reboot. The 24-year-old had the honor of playing the spin-off’s first gay character, Casey, but she was quickly informed her role was at risk!

According to Miss Benny, “one of the Tanner sisters” who is “very publicly not for the girls” was not pleased with the addition of a queer character in two episodes of season 4. Because the star’s feelings about the LGBTQ+ community were so widely known by everyone working on the production, the higher-ups sat down with the guest star to warn her about what to expect! The performer, who came out as transgender in June, revealed:

“I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person allegedly was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show.”

WTF!

The actress claimed she was “warned and prepared” that this person’s fan base might also be “encouraged to target” her. While the protests to get the character erased from the comedy didn’t work, it doesn’t mean the leading lady was very welcoming to the Glamorous lead, Miss Benny claimed:

“To this day, despite working on the show every day for two weeks straight, I have only had a conversation with one of the Tanner sisters.”

Now, obviously, there were only two Tanner sisters to chat with on set because the youngest, Michelle, played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, was not a part of the Netflix series. And given what we all know about Candace and Jodie Sweetin, it seems obvious the latter was the only friendly one. Jeez.

Again, while Miss Benny’s post never called out Candace by name, the star did include the caption, “#candacebure,” so there’s really no mistaking who she was putting on blast. You can hear her full reflection (below):

As to be expected, the Christmas Under Wraps lead wasted no time clapping back. Denying all the claims, she said in a statement to People on Thursday night:

“I never asked Miss Benny’s character to be removed from Fuller House and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to not have queer characters on the show. Fuller House has always welcomed a wide range of characters. I thought Miss Benny did a great job as ‘Casey’ on the show. We didn’t share any scenes together, so we didn’t get a chance to talk much while filming on set. I wish Miss Benny only the best.”

Hmmm…

Her word choice at the end is def inneresting. Saying they didn’t have the opportunity to “talk much” seems to suggest they did interact — but if we’re going off what Miss Benny said then that’s a lie!

Of course, these allegations come after Candace was already dubbed the “rudest celebrity” JoJo Siwa‘s ever met. Last year, the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries star also made waves when she promoted her new partnership with the Hallmark rival Great American Family, saying:

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

The 47-year-old’s apparent bigotry was criticized by many stars, including the Dance Moms alum who was shocked she so openly gushed about her “intention of excluding LGBTQIA+” people in her new projects. Jodie was spotted supporting the former Nickelodeon star, who identifies as queer and pansexual, writing, “You know I love you.” Jodie also unfollowed Candace at the time. During an appearance on the And That’s What You REALLY Missed podcast on Thursday, the 59-year-old actor admitted to hosts Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale that he was really “angry” with the fashion designers when Netflix brought back the beloved sitcom in 2016, and they refused to return. Why is that? John noted he heard rumors at the time that Mary-Kate and Ashley “hated their childhood” on Full House, which upset him a little bit at the time. However, those rumors ended up not being true. The ER alum clarified on the podcast:

“But they said, ‘We loved our childhood. We loved being with you. We miss Bob [Saget].’”

According to John, the cast of Full House – including Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Dave Coulier – “didn’t see them much” once the original show ended in 1995, and they moved to New York. The Glee star shared that he only “stayed in touch a little bit” with Ashley and Mary-Kate.

But when it came to Bob? John said the former America’s Funniest Home Videos host “really did” maintain a close relationship with the former actresses up until his tragic death last year. As John said, the 65-year-old comedian “ was very instrumental in keeping us all together” when the series was over. And sadly, it was Bob’s passing that reconnected John to Mary-Kate and Ashley again. And as a peace offering, John recalled on the podcast that they brought over a “frozen pork chop and sage” to his home. That’s an inneresting olive branch. He added:

“I don’t know why, but thank you? It was a frozen pork chop, so that was really nice. So we stayed very close.”

Ultimately, John feels his repaired relationship with then twins is “one of the only good things to come out of Bob’s [death].” Wow. On Monday’s episode of Josh Peck‘s Good Guys podcast, Stamos made a shocking confession when asked about rumors he’d once “tried” to get the Olsen twins fired:

“I did it. I didn’t ‘try.'”

Whoa!

The 59-year-old actor elaborated, revealing he and co-star Dave Coulier, AKA Uncle Joey, had a rough time filming the pilot episode with the twin infants. The scene was where Michelle’s dad Danny, portrayed by Bob Saget, left her alone with her uncles for the afternoon. While filming the scene, though, the babies got fussy:

“I think I was holding her under the armpits and Dave was holding her little feet and we take her in the kitchen and we hose her down. Put a fan on her, wrapped her up in paper towels, and she was screaming, both of them. They wanted to be anywhere else but there and so did I. They were 11 months old, God bless them.”

He explained the parents “kept switching them” but it didn’t matter which little actress they got — neither was having it! If you’ve seen the episode, you know just how crazy that scene got! It’s no surprise the Olsens didn’t like it — it was a lot for a baby to deal with!

John went on to reveal he gave the Full House crew a full diva moment:

“I couldn’t deal with it. I said, ‘This is not gonna work, guys.’ I screamed at them, ‘Get rid of them. I can’t work like this.'”

In the end, though, it seemed like he wasn’t going to be happy no matter what kids were on set:

“So they got rid of them. They brought on these two red-headed kids. I’m sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive. It had nothing to do with them being red-headed… but they weren’t attractive. It was only a few days and I said, ‘Bring the Olsens back! These kids are terrible.'”

Wait, seriously? So he got some other twins fired, too? And they STAYED fired?

How rude!

When Josh asked his guest if Mary-Kate and Ashley knew about the incident where they were fired, John quipped:

“They do now.”

Heartbreaking. While Kelly is still grappling with the loss of her husband, she also noted the situation has been “survivable” for her because she’s “the luckiest” for having known him.

According to a new source opening up to ET on Tuesday, Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin, who played sisters DJ and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, for years on Full House and Fuller House, are in a “pretty serious” disagreement following Candace’s very controversial “traditional marriage” comments!

Earlier this month, the devout Christian spoke with WSJ. Magazine about her exit from the Hallmark Channel and her next chapter at the Great American Family network, which has no plans to include same-sex couples in their movies. While addressing this, the 46-year-old very clearly said she wants to “keep traditional marriage at the core” of her Christmas flicks.

Naturally, the hateful declaration sent the internet into a tailspin! Several notable celebrities clapped back at the comment, including Hilarie Burton, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Maren Morris. Then JoJo Siwa entered the chat. The pair have had a complicated history ever since the Nickelodeon star called CCB the rudest celeb she’s ever met in a TikTok earlier this year. The teen once again put the actress on blast for her anti-LGBTQ remark and Jodie slid into her comment section to send her support, writing:

“You know I love you “

Days later, the Merry Swissmas lead also re-posted Holly Robinson Peete’s IG post calling for inclusivity to her Instagram Stories. Shockingly, Candy then UNFOLLOWED her TV sister on the ‘gram! Damn! (At this time, Jodie still follows Candace.)

Phew. It’s been a lot! And it doesn’t sound like it will be resolved anytime soon…

While chatting with ET, the insider explained the co-star’s ongoing dispute has to do with their different world views since Jodie “is progressive in her beliefs and Candace is very religious in hers.” AKA she’s conservative as f**k! Cause it’s not like every religious person is a proud homophobe! Reiterating all this, the confidant continued:

“They have different views and opinions on various important topics.”

All of this has probably been pretty obvious to both of them behind the scenes. We mean, Candace has made a habit out of preaching her religious views on social media. But it seems her “traditional marriage” quote was just too much for Jodie to let slide. According to the source, Bure’s comments to WSJ. “held a lot of weight,” but it also didn’t help that Jodie so publicly took a stand against Candace, the insider dished:

“Candace’s quote about traditional marriage impacted a lot of people. Jodie does not agree with Candace’s remarks and wanted to show where she stands. Candace is upset that Jodie chose to do this in a public way instead of talking to her one-on-one.”

Well, if she can speak her mind so publicly then her on-screen sibling should be able to do the same! Just saying. ET tried to get a comment from the stars, but Candace’s reps couldn’t be reached and Jodie’s team said they don’t have a comment at this time. So, we bet nothing has changed.

For her part, Jodie took to social media today to share several organizations fans should consider donating to for Giving Tuesday and she included GLAAD! The news may come as a shock to some people – considering the pair grew up together playing siblings DJ and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, on Full House until 1995 before reprising their roles on Fuller House. Candace and Jodie have remained close over the years, with the Make It Or Break It alum even getting an invite to her TV sister’s July wedding to Mescal Wasilewski.

However, things between them since grown tense after Candace came under fire for praising the Great American Family channel for favoring “traditional marriage” plot lines over LGBTQIA+ love stories in an interview with WSJ Magazine. She said at the time:

I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment. … I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

Yikes!

She quickly faced backlash for her comments from social media users and celebrities like Hilarie Burton, Maren Morris, and JoJo Siwa. The Dance Moms alum blasted Candace for “excluding” the LGBTQIA+ community from her films in a post on Instagram, which saw Jodie respond in the comments:

Candace then spoke out about the homophobic remark in a heated message on Instagram, saying:

“All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone. It saddens me that the media is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas movies. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn’t be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever.”

And as you can imagine, she never once apologized for her comments in the post. SMH. Since then, Jodie has not backed down on her criticism of Candace. She even re-posted Holly Robinson Peete’s post calling for inclusivity to her Instagram Stories on Saturday. The message read:

“There was a time when the words ‘tradition’ and ‘traditional’ were used to denigrate others … And to justify discriminatory laws like it wasn’t ‘traditional’ for people to marry interracially. So when we hear the words ‘traditional’ marriage to describe one type of marriage, it belittles the love and commitment that many legally married people have for each other and it triggers many of us to a time that we remember how the word ‘tradition’ was cloaked in Christianity and we were basically told that God didn’t want equality for all.”

“You went decades without ever having to see an LGBTQ character on screen. Now, we’re in 1 out of 5 movies. Sorry if this disturbs you. Sending thoughts and prayers.”

Hah! The post went on to call out the network’s CEO Bill Abbott‘s statement in the same interview, as well, in which he basically called being queer a “trend.” Ugh.

The upload quickly caught Maren’s attention and she decided to share her two cents — since she’s never been afraid to stick up for the queer community in the past. Calling out Candace and referencing her Full House character D.J. Tanner, she wrote:

It’s no real surprise the My Church songstress is speaking out against the hate, though. She has proven to be a fierce ally amid her beef with Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, over transphobic comments. We love to see it!

Of course, this hilarious response comes after the Christmas Under Wraps lead told WSJ. Magazine earlier this week that her new work with the Christian conservative network, Great American Family (where she will not only be an actress but also a chief creative officer), will be focusing on faith-based, family programming — AKA Christian content with no queer couples in sight.

Many celebrities have also called out the former child star for her rude remarks, including One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and JoJo Siwa. Now that’s saying something!

Unfortunately, despite the intense backlash, the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries alum does not seem very sorry for what she said. On Wednesday afternoon, the 46-year-old took to the ‘gram to post a lengthy statement — but she notably did NOT apologize. Instead, she slammed the media and haters for getting upset. Sigh.

The non-profit organization Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has since taken a stand against the exclusionary network, telling ET:

“If GAF’s plan is to intentionally exclude stories about LGBTQ couples, then actors, advertisers, cable and streaming platforms, and production companies should take note and seriously consider whether they want to be associated with a network that holds exclusion as one of its values.”

GLAAD’s President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis also offered to meet with Candace to discuss the negative impact of her interview, adding:

“It’s irresponsible and hurtful for Candace Cameron Bure to use tradition as a guise for exclusion. I’d love to have a conversation with Bure about my wife, our kids, and our family’s traditions. Bure is out of sync with a growing majority of people of faith, including LGBTQ people of faith, who know that LGBTQ couples and families are deserving of love and visibility.”

Amen!

Sadly, we don’t think Candy’s gonna be so willing to have a meeting — or listen to any of the criticism, for that matter. When asked if they’ve worked through their issues, JoJo responded to the outlet with a laugh, saying:

“We’re…civil? I don’t know. I’ve got like three problems since that one, so we’re moved on.”

It doesn’t exactly sound like they’re besties — but at least she’s leaving the drama in the past! For those who somehow missed the whole saga over the summer, the situation began when JoJo labeled Candace as the “rudest celebrity I’ve met” while participating in a popular TikTok trend. Quickly, the whole thing blew up on social media– leading the 46-year-old actress to reach out to JoJo about what happened between them. Candace revealed to her followers on Instagram that she learned during a phone conversation with the So You Think You Can Dance judge that she turned down her request to pose for a photo on the red carpet. The Hallmark star explained at the time:

“She actually didn’t want to tell me because she said it’s so silly, she felt bad and that’s why it just wasn’t a big deal to her. But then she said, ‘I met you at the Fuller House premiere when I was 11 years old, and we were all on the red carpet. I had come up to you and said, ‘Can I have a picture with you?; and you said to me, ‘Not right now.’ And then proceeded to do what you were doing and take pictures with other people on the red carpet.’”

She then went on to apologize for her actions, expressing:

“I kind of broke your 11-year-old heart, I didn’t take a picture with you! I feel crummy. JoJo, I’m so sorry!”

However, JoJo later shared with Page Six that Candace’s recollection of their meeting was not entirely correct! She told the outlet:

“It was at the after party that she didn’t wanna take a picture with me, and I was OK with that. But then I turned around, and when I looked back, she was taking pictures with other kids. And that’s what made me really upset. When you’re little and somebody says something to you, and you just never forget it as long as you live — I think we’ve all had that moment – and I feel like this was that moment for me.”

We can imagine it’s pretty brutal to be turned away by someone you look up to and find out they took pics with someone else — especially when you’re a child. While it’s nice they shared a call, it doesn’t sound like it was the start of a beautiful relationship or anything. We guess some wounds never heal…

But now, there’s more! JoJo’s mom Jessalynn Siwa took to Instagram this week to re-post an old podcast clip which previously touched on the situation between Cameron Bure and her daughter.

In her new IG post, Jessalynn offered some context about the ages-old feud between Candace and her daughter. In her new IG caption, the 47-year-old explained she’d previously spoken about the sitch on the old podcast, writing this (below) with a shady dig at Candace’s biblical quoting:

“I talked about this on my podcast a while back. The recent story told wasn’t quite right so here is the real version. At the end of the day this story , it’s not about a simple photo it’s about how you treat people. Real, genuine kindness always goes a long way. It’s super easy to quote a Bible verse when everyone is looking at you but morals are what you have when no one is looking.”

Oh damn!

In the old clip itself, JoJo’s protective momma can be heard re-calling what happened when Candace allegedly turned down the Dance Moms star for a picture at the Fuller House premiere way back in 2016.

Jessalynn revealed in the old podcast segment the story of how JoJo ended up meeting Candace again years later:

“Fast forward, we go on The Kelly Clarkson Show, who’s on the day JoJo is on? I go, ‘If she even asks you for a picture, please say, ‘Not now, [maybe] later.’ Just kidding!”

But it sounds like there wasn’t much interaction behind the scenes on Kelly Clarkson‘s daytime TV show. Jessalynn explained what allegedly happened BTS between JoJo and Candace:

“No [they didn’t interact], she just couldn’t be bothered. And you know what? Maybe she was having an emergency and her kid was crying and she was trying to get ahold of the babysitter. I do not know what was going on but it’s funny when you don’t know and somebody treats you like that… and it’s hard to be a celebrity, I’ll give it to you, but that was so long ago and I still remember it!”

According to People, the 40-year-old actress tied the knot with her beau of five years, Mescal Wasilewski, in an intimate and romantic backyard ceremony at a private home in Malibu, California, on Saturday. During the nuptials, she walked down the aisle in a stunning lace gown from Lili Bridals with her father by her side.

Her two daughters, 14-year-old Zoie and 11-year-old Beatrix, stood by Jodie’s side at the alter as she and the clinical social worker exchanged personal vows in front of 50 friends and family. Of course, among the crowd of people were some of her Full House castmates, including John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber. She expressed to the outlet about her hubby:

“I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me.”

Following the ceremony, People reported that the couple had a relaxed wedding reception during which their guests enjoyed a dinner of tacos and a guacamole bar from Border Grill, plus a small cake and dessert bites from Big Sugar Bakeshop. The Fuller House alum said of the celebration:

“I didn’t want it to be fussy. The look is very organic and natural. It’s just about good food and good friends – and twinkle lights!”

In case you didn’t know, Jodie and Mescal were first introduced through mutual friends in 2017 and soon began a long-distance relationship before he eventually moved from New York City to Los Angeles in 2020. She did not make their relationship known to the public until 2018, gushing on social media at the time:

“Find someone who you can share this kind of love with… Someone who doesn’t just show you they love you one day a year. Who isn’t afraid to look silly when they tell you they love you.”

They got engaged in January 2022 – and as they say, the rest is history! Jodie shared with People that their love and support for each other only continues to grow stronger each day, and she truly feels she’s found “the best teammate” to share her life with:

“Mescal makes me feel absolutely comfortable and secure to shine as bright as I need to. He steps up and shows up for my girls. And we harmonize so well. He’s really the best teammate I could ask for.”

This is the fourth marriage for Jodie. She was first married to Shaun Holguin from 2002 to 2006. The star then tied the knot with Cody Herpin from 2007 until 2010, and later married Morty Coyle from 2012 to 2016.
