Of course, on Tuesday, we reported about the bombshell Back to the Beach podcast hosted by Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti. The two ex-Laguna Beach stars interviewed fellow former cast member Lauren Conrad for a VERY nostalgic sit-down. And while many of the biggest highlights of that interview centered on Kristin’s then-contentious relationship with Lauren, there was also one other memorable moment!

As Perezcious readers will recall, at one point during the podcast ep, Kristin and Lauren lamented at how producers aligned every dramatic storyline around Stephen. LC explained that behind the scenes though, she was actually having fun with Talan at the time! However, the MTV staffers running the show didn’t care:

“I was hooking up with Talan!”

The Very Cavallari star had a hilarious and enlightening response about what was going on behind the scenes:

“We all were!”

Ha!

Conrad added:

“The producers didn’t even care. They would fabricate a story with you [Stephen] but you would be like, ‘Everyone’s actually hooking up with him [Talan]!'”

Oh, to be young…

And on Tuesday afternoon, Talan responded! First, he shared a TikTok clip of the Uncommon James founder and the Lauren Conrad Co. exec discussing how things were back in the day. His bemused reaction says it all:

But that wasn’t all! Hours later, he doubled down with a second even funnier response vid.

Returning to the social media app, Talan played Taylor Swift‘s Anti-Hero. Superimposing a shot of himself above a pic of Cavallari, Colletti, and Conrad, the 36-year-old mouthed Swift’s lyrics as the music played on in the background:

“It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me.”

Yeah, that was a sentence you probably expected us to say in 2006 or something, right?! But no! That went down in the present day! Like, NOW! And we are here for three former Laguna Beach stars rehashing their days on MTV and alllll the controversial drama they went through during that iconic reality show!

As Perezcious readers will no doubt recall, the then-high school students starred on the hit series from 2004 to 2006. There was major love triangle drama between them at the time, as the show played up a rift between Lauren and Kristin after each were romantically involved with Stephen.

For years since, it seemed the beef has been maintained and the distance has held. But this week, the vibe MAJORLY shifted! On Tuesday morning, Stephen and Kristin released their season one finale of the podcast Back to the Beach. In it, Lauren sat down with them for a deep dive into where they all came from!

Holy s**t!

Here are some of the biggest highlights from the brand new podcast ep re-living those Laguna Beach days (below)…

The REAL Story Behind The Love Triangle

There was no love triangle as salacious as the Lauren-Stephen-Kristin love triangle. (Sorry, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, and Angelina Jolie! Ha!)

But according to Lauren, the issues she had with Kristin were “done” before the show even began to film!! LC told the podcast hosts:

“We got into it and then made up. I mean, I don’t think we were best friends. But we were like, ‘It’s fine.’ You and I really never had any beef. Obviously there was a little truth to what happened. I felt like MTV coming kept it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been.”

Kristin tried to play it down even further, saying the two women “never had an issue with each other.” Lauren didn’t quite buy that, but did acknowledge:

“I mean, we had an issue with each other. But it had been squashed! They ran with it. It made for an interesting show.”

Interesting!

Lauren’s Love Interests…

Producers on Laguna Beach went to great lengths to set up and promote the Lauren-Stephen-Kristin controversy. But that wasn’t what was really going on! LC explained that she was actually quietly connecting with cast member Talan Torriero during filming, even though none of that ever ended up making it to air:

“This is terrible, but honestly, I was hooking up with Talan.”

Kristin replied:

“We all were!”

Oops!

Still, producers just didn’t care about the tall Talan tale. Lauren explained:

“They would fabricate a story with [Stephen]. But we would be like, ‘everyone’s actually hooking up with him!'”

LOLz!!

Lauren And Stephen Go WAY Back!

LC used the podcast to look back at her long-standing connection to Stephen — but apparently misremembered it!

According to Conrad, she started hanging with Stephen during their senior year, after all the upperclassmen boys she was friends with graduated. And when she hooked up with him, she explained, Stephen had already been split up from Kristin:

“I don’t think I realized you guys were boyfriend and girlfriend. I didn’t know you guys had a whole relationship. So then we started hanging out again.”

But it turns out LC and Colletti did date! In SEVENTH GRADE!!!

Incredulous that Lauren didn’t remember, Stephen recalled how they were very briefly together in one of those awkward middle school relationships until she split with him on Halloween:

“We did date, seventh grade! Do you remember this? For two weeks? You broke up with me after two weeks. I remember because you were in your Halloween costume. I think it was Supergirl or something.”

Reliving All Their Regrets

Both women got candid about an ugly (and infamous) episode down in Cabo San Lucas. During that wild trip, LC called Kristin a “slut.” That insult has lived on in Laguna Beach lore ever since, but Conrad is remorseful that it ever happened, though.

She extended an olive branch to Cavallari on the podcast, saying:

“I’m so sorry. I couldn’t believe I did that. Because where I’m at now, I would never call another woman that. And it was the most embarrassing moment. I was like, ‘Oh, gross.'”

She wasn’t the only one, though. Kristin replied that she also regretted calling Lauren the same slur in a later ep:

“I said some really dumb stuff. And I look back and that’s like my biggest thing. When I watch it now, I wasn’t confident at all. I was actually so insecure. I took it out on you in a lot of ways. Hindsight’s 20/20. If I could go back, I probably would have directed a little bit more towards [Stephen], instead of [Lauren].”

Growth and maturity! Snaps and claps!

It Didn’t Survive A Rewatch!

Conrad recently went through a COVID-19 battle, and she used that time to watch back all the old episodes. She claimed on the podcast that she actually never watched them in full before. (Really?!?!) And she wasn’t too keen on seeing it this time around, either! She joked:

“Watching it was, like, so much worse than I had imagined it would be. It was really cringey. And I noticed, like, I don’t say a lot in this show … It’s just really little bits and, like, weird faces for me.”

Sad to see that it didn’t hold up for her. Def not true for us! Ha!!

How Lauren Became Voice Of The Show…

Lauren also recalled how she accidentally became the show’s lead after producers asked her to do all the voice-over narration for the first season. She didn’t expect it to be such a big deal at the time — but the impact of her VO work lasted. The now 36-year-old explained:

“I was just sort of told I was gonna be the narrator.I don’t really remember it being a conversation. And I don’t think I understood what that meant. They were like, ‘We need you to come in and do some recording,’ which was sort of odd, because when we went to San Francisco, I was basically commuting back to L.A. every weekend.”

She also (slowly) learned along the way how to push back on scripts. During her later time on The Hills, Lauren wasn’t afraid to reject script ideas or alter spoken lines. (Yes, the show is scrip:ted! Shocker!) But on Laguna Beach, she didn’t understand that part of the game — and so she said what she was told to say:

“There was probably a few things I would say, ‘I don’t think this is right,’ or, ‘I feel uncomfortable.’ But because you’re so young, you were like, ‘Well, this is what I signed up for. This is your job.’ No. I don’t say a lot in this show. So, the most you hear me speak, I think, really is in that intro. So, it’s funny that most of my words are actually written for me.”

Always interesting to hear what goes on behind the scenes. It’s never quite like how you imagine it to be, is it?!

…And The Producers Were Very Persuasive

Kristin agreed with some of Lauren’s assessments. Jay Cutler‘s ex said producers could be “very persuasive” during filming. Lauren didn’t want to make it seem like they were being outright manipulated on set, but she did admit that MTV’s production team knew how to make interesting television:

“I don’t think I ever felt taken advantage of. But I was definitely surrounded by a bunch of adults saying, ‘Well, this is how it went. This is how viewers feel.’ And you know what? They did a good job. Like, they were writing a show. And I think we did need that push in order to make it more interesting.”

No Regrets!

Even though she missed out on some “normal” stuff during her high school and college days, being on a hit reality TV show gave her all kinds of opportunities she otherwise wouldn’t have had. She’s certainly made the most of those today, too. Lauren explained:

“If I could relive any moment it would probably be, like, graduation or prom. … I think a little bit of, like, normalcy. We missed out on that.”

And yet she added:

“It gave me so many opportunities and I wouldn’t be able to build the career I have without it. That’s definitely the best part. I think the hardest part is that I feel like we didn’t really get to go off and have a normal college experience. It was worth it.”

Well then!

As you may recall, the MTV series had many of us hooked on the drama from the iconic love triangle between Stephen, Kristin Cavallari, and Lauren Conrad. But according to Stephen, not everything portrayed on the show was what actually happened! He insisted on the Back to the Beach podcast on Tuesday that he was not seeing them both at the same time, slamming producers for portraying him as a cheater with the way they edited the scenes. Stephen said:

“I had a huge problem with this because, look, obviously they created this show around this love triangle and there’s moments where you and I were broken up. And [producers] had learned about Lauren and I hooking up and being very good friends and, you know, obviously stuff happened at certain times, but at no point ever, whenever we were together, would I step out on you in that way.”

Hmmm….

The One Tree Hill alum added that the editing made his “blood boil” at the time. As for what Kristin thinks about the storyline? The Uncommon James founder said it felt like “everyone on the show” was put into certain “boxes” even if it was not who they actually were:

“They decided ‘OK, this is how we’re gonna make Stephen look and I don’t care what’s really going on in his life.’ We are gonna continue to hammer that home and keep going back to that same storyline.”

Stephen and Kristin both agreed that while the producers “filled in the gaps” in the plot with whatever they wanted, they gave MTV props for creating a super entertaining show. They really had us on the edge of our seats at times! The Everyone Is Doing Great star praised:

“With the genius of their editing, you have to hand it to them, they really crafted this storyline.”

He then noted that the cast “had no idea they could pull certain parts of our sentences and then put them together” to make “a storyline that fit their narrative.” Meanwhile, Kristin said she was “always the bad guy” and never had a way to get her side of the story while Laguna Beach was airing in the early 2000s. Ultimately, she believed things would have been a lot different if social media sites like Twitter or Instagram had been around back then:

“They got so lucky that we didn’t have social media at that time because you know I would have been all over that thing going ‘This didn’t happen here’ and ‘That’s not true.’”

She writes about her love life, her experiences with celeb culture back in the 2000s, some truly toxic personal situations… and of course, fans of rehashed The Hills drama can find plenty of that, too. The juiciest tidbit there? The real reasons the rift with Lauren Conrad never healed.

Remember, the two had friction back when they were living together, along with Lo Bosworth. What fan can forget?

But Audrina says there was more to the roomie dynamics than cameras captured. Like Lauren’s “controlling” behavior… Ooh… She broaches the awkward subject coolly:

“Unfortunately, one connection that didn’t last was my relationship with Lauren, who doesn’t really talk to anyone from the old cast.”

What Wasn’t On TV

Diving right into there being more to the story than viewers know, she says:

“There are reasons that she and I aren’t friends anymore, and there was a lot of turmoil between us that we couldn’t talk about on-camera at the time. It’s what led to me moving out of the pool house out back when I lived with her and Lo.”

And no, it wasn’t all about her ex Justin Bobby Brescia either. Getting into the details they couldn’t discuss on MTV, she recalls:

“Lauren and I had the same agent and publicists, and it seemed to me that I was getting requests, opportunities and gigs that our mutual agent was giving to Lauren instead. Yes, I blamed my agents for this, but it still wasn’t great for my friendship with Lauren.”

So there was a rivalry going on there they never even mentioned! She also expresses:

“I also found her to be very controlling over her friends. If you’re in her circle, you have to do and say what Lauren does or says. Otherwise, you’re on the outs.”

Audrina says she felt obligated to follow the rules set out by MTV producers — but not the ones Lauren came up with! She notes Heidi Montag experienced “the same thing” — hence her relationship with Lauren souring.

Ooh, damn! We’re guessing the LC CEO wouldn’t be too happy to hear this description of her dynamic with friends!

The book does show some sympathy for her former friend. Audrina writes:

“To an extent, I understand wanting to have control, especially in the reality TV world Lauren grew up in, when so much is controlled and decided for you.”

The Justin Bobby Of It All

OK, we said it wasn’t all about Justin Bobby Brescia. But that was definitely the big event that ended the friendship for good. And yes, Audrina still insists she was right — that Lauren had hooked up with her ex behind her back. She writes in the book:

“When Justin and I were broken up, Lauren ran into him in Vegas and, according to a good friend of mine, ended up hooking up with him. When I heard this, I felt so betrayed.”

A good friend, eh? Hmm… Wonder who that could be… Someone Audrina trusts more than Lauren at any rate! Speaking of that “controlling” behavior, the now-37-year-old still remembers the calculated way her co-star played that situation. First she ghosted Audrina until the cameras were rolling, then she caught her off guard by completely gaslighting her!

“Apparently Lauren was saving her take for the cameras, and when we finally talked, she had it all twisted around to make me sound like I was delusional and out of my mind. Then she got mad at me. Lauren and I were never really friends again.”

Obviously she had to write about this. However, Audrina — now a mom to a 6-year-old — says she doesn’t actually think about that old bad blood much anymore:

“It would be silly to waste time on an old feud when we’re with our families and our priorities are clearly different now.”

An Ex To Pine For

Besides the LC drama, the relationship most people are keen to read about is the one with a little up-and-coming actor named Chris Pine.

The two met in 2009, just as he was really entering the stratosphere of movie stardom. They enjoyed a brief but highly publicized romance — and that second part was kind of the problem.

While the reality star was accustomed to having her personal life be turned into entertainment, Chris was apparently uncomfortable with that particular aspect of fame:

“He didn’t like going out and being followed by the paparazzi — he was an introvert, and very focused on his acting… I loved to go out, and of course I was usually filming The Hills, so our lifestyles were complete opposites in that sense.”

Sounds like it was just never going to work!

They would hang out in less paparazzi-dense areas like Silver Lake and Los Feliz, she writes, but even then they were pictured together. Once, she recalls, a fan took their photo — something she thought really bothered him.

And of course her own cameras were an issue as well! She continues:

“With my filming schedule, and the fact that there was no way Chris would want to be on [The Hills], I just knew that after a couple months that I couldn’t date him. My life was the TV show, and there weren’t enough hours in the day to do my job and find time to see him privately. He was a big up-and-coming actor with demands on his time, and it didn’t seem like our lives were lining up, even though we really liked each other.”

Awww! Star Trek-crossed lovers! She writes wistfully:

“We talked and stayed in touch a little after we stopped seeing each other. I have nothing but fond memories of Chris. He was truly one of the most normal people I’ve ever met in LA — and I mean that as the highest compliment.”

Ha! Being called “normal” definitely is a compliment in this town! LOLz!

But Chris wasn’t the only A-lister Audrina got friendly with…

The Leo Story

So what really happened between Audrina and Leonardo DiCaprio??

She tells the whole story in the book, and it starts with a prince… who isn’t Leo!

Audrina writes about being flown to Las Vegas during the height of her The Hills popularity for the birthday party of a prince — presumably not Harry, that’s a whole other Vegas story. She recalls:

“I was there with a few of my castmates from the film ‘Sorority Row,’ as well as Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, and even Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Yep, when you’re famous sometimes international royalty just pays to have you at their parties! But it was what happened after that matters…

Audrina remembers the celebs going out clubbing after their obligations with His Highness — and that’s when Leo made his move!

“This bouncer kept coming over to me and saying that Leo would like to get me a drink at his table. I looked over at his table, and he was surrounded by supermodels. It was intimidating!”

She told the bouncer she would say hello, she writes, but she NEVER DID! Seriously?! With Leo?? Well, playing hard to get did the trick because eventually he came to her table.

“I told him I knew who he was, obviously, and we chatted for a while. He asked for my phone number, and we texted a little after the trip to Vegas, but we never actually hung out.”

How anticlimactic! Sadly it was her job that she believes came between her and yet another celeb suitor. Leo, like Chris, is really private in his personal life. It’s not like he was ever going to be on The Hills. We mean, he’s LEO!

Speaking of the reality show…

How Real Was The Hills, Really??

Yes, Audrina gives her own answer to the eternal question. Some cast members have said the show was semi-scripted, others have denied it. Where does Patridge land in her big tell-all?? She weighs in:

“The truth? It’s somewhere in between, a little bit of both.”

Unfortunately the answer is far too complicated. You’d have to read the whole book to get a clearer picture, as she spends quite a lot of time discussing — as with Lauren — how her relationships with people were different on and off-camera, the “blurred lines” between the show and life.

In fact, the friction between reality and “reality” was a big issue in her relationship with Justin Bobby, as she describes:

“We got caught up in the production of it all, like being artificially brought together to film certain scenes, prompted and prodded by production to share a romantic moment or argue about a specific problem.”

That actually sounds… exhausting! Even if it wasn’t “scripted” per se, they were still filming scenes that were someone else’s idea for a TV show — and not just living life. And in fact, that got in the way of her life back then a LOT.

In one spicy excerpt about surreal star moments, Audrina opens up about the 2007 VMAs when Justin Timberlake infamously disrespected them onstage — right after they presented him with his award!

She recounts from the upcoming book, via Page Six, that as the stars of one of MTV‘s biggest shows that year, she and co-stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port were given the honor of presenting Male Artist of the Year — a huge deal for them!

“Lauren and Whitney were beyond excited when Justin Timberlake won, because they were superfans. His wasn’t my kind of music, so I couldn’t have cared less, but I was excited for them.”

But this was one of those “never meet your heroes” moments. Things went awry right away, as she recalls:

“And then Justin wouldn’t even come up to us and accept the award in front of a packed house! Chris Brown came up onstage with him, took the award from us himself, and then presented it to Justin as we backed off to the side.”

She says JT completely ignoring them “devastated” Lauren and Whitney, but she just found herself “annoyed at his rude, diva behavior.”

Innerestingly, Audrina’s memory is a bit off there. JT shouted out Chris Brown in his acceptance speech, but it was actually his producer Timbaland who took the award and handed it to the artist. But she got his quote dead-on! She wrote:

“As if that wasn’t bad enough, Justin took center stage and said to the crowd: ‘MTV, play more damn videos. We don’t want to see The Simpsons or reality television.’”

Yup! That’s what he said alright! Relive the moment (below)!

The camera did not linger on the reality stars’ faces at that moment, but if it had viewers likely would have seen that the girls took it as a “personal attack.” Audrina writes:

“Lauren’s jaw dropped. We were humiliated.”

That makes sense. Lauren told Us Weekly years later that she had been the biggest JT fan for so long — and that moment crushed her!

“I have always loved him, and he was a disappointment at the VMAs. Whitney and I presented him with an award. We were so excited, and he wouldn’t even take the award from us. Then he went up to the microphone and insulted reality television on MTV. We were standing up there smiling, and I felt so stupid. It was probably the end of my love for him.”

Aw, that’s really sad! We understand a music lover missing the days of non-stop music on MTV, but he didn’t think for a second about the fact these three young women on the stage with him might be fans — that this might be a big deal for them. How self-centered can you get??

The silver lining to that evening? Meeting a much more down-to-earth pop star! Audrina writes:

“Fortunately, not everyone was as rude [as Timberlake]. Our table was right next to this up-and-coming artist and her mom. Maybe you recognize the name Rihanna?”

It rings a bell… Ha! She remembers more fondly:

“I spent a while chatting with her and her mom that night, and she couldn’t have been nicer. She was probably one of my favorite people I’ve ever met at an awards show.”

Awww! Now that’s a memory to last a lifetime!

As Perezcious readers know, Kristin just started a podcast with Laguna co-star Stephen Colletti in which the exes rewatch the show and give insider tidbits. In the first episode, she’s already given us insight to her “messed up” feud with co-star Lauren Conrad — but it seems the juicy info is far from over!

In Tuesday’s premiere episode, the Very Cavallari star also revealed how much she was actually paid for her time on the show. When Stephen asked her if she remembered how much they were paid for the first season, she said:

“I think $2.5k.”

$2,500? For the WHOLE first season?! WOW.

The two continued to discuss their wages, with Colletti saying his memory was that it was even less! He said:

“I don’t even know if it was that much. I think it was $2k.”

TWO GRAND?!? Kristin half-jokingly retorted:

“Maybe I got paid more than you.”

Ha!

But in all seriousness, $2,500 is WILD for a full season of TV, scripted or not. Considering the hours these kids gave to MTV, that is a truly shocking amount. We’d bet that was less than minimum wage if you measure it all out!

They both admitted though, at the time — as well-to-do, carefree high schoolers — money was the last thing on their minds. Cavallari said:

“I honestly would’ve done it for free, though. Because at that point in high school, to me, it was more of a competition, like everybody wanted it. And I was like, ‘I’m gonna get this show.’ I’m super competitive; that has not changed. So I literally, when they told us they were gonna pay us, I was like, ‘oh my god, great!.'”

Her ex agreed with her, saying he was more focused on the “free parties” and “free trips”:

“I remember thinking like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna get some, like, free parties out of this, like, free trips, like, MTV is coming to us and wants to finance these opportunities, these parties if you will, for us to all hang out and get together.’”

The One Tree Hill alum reflected bemusedly:

“We thought we had them, and we had no idea.”

Ha! We’re glad the money wasn’t a problem for them. Although, they did reveal they renegotiated their salaries for season two after the show was a massive hit! Thank goodness!

On Tuesday, the exes launched the first episode of their podcast Back To The Beach, which will see them rewatch all the episodes of Laguna Beach and break down the REAL drama for fans! With just one episode out, they’re already spilling SO much tea!!

After watching the first episode titled, “A Black & White Affair,” which sparked an epic love triangle between Stephen, Kristin, and Lauren Conrad, the former couple had a lot to dish about the portrayal of their rollercoaster romance — beginning with the contentious battle between Kristin and Lauren as they fought over the same boy.

The Very Cavallari star began by sharing her take on the situation after watching the fight between her and her co-star begin on the MTV pilot, saying:

“Watching it now, it’s so different when you’re in the middle of it and you’re very emotional.”

Time has also given her a totally different perspective on the feud! She now thinks both girls were fighting with the wrong person the whole time! She told Stephen:

“I will say the fact that Lauren Conrad and I really went after each other is so messed up when I love you, but the person we should have been going after is you.”

The 35-year-old continued:

“This is so classic. If someone gets cheated on, you go after the other woman. Why are we not blaming the guy — or the girl, whatever the situation is. In a lot of ways, I feel bad.”

LOLz! She’s not wrong! Stephen definitely played a part in this feud and should never have led either girl on!

But he doesn’t think fans understand the full scope of what was happening behind the scenes to make him into the player he appeared to be, explaining:

“MTV is painting it as this is straight up what’s going down. The black and white affair –having me leave with Lauren then with you as well — that is one of the biggest things that I was very uncomfortable with especially because I was a heartbroken kid in the middle of senior year.”

Young love can be so complicated! And instead of being able to work through his romantic life in private, he was suddenly thrust into a love triangle he didn’t intend and, eventually, had legions of fans critiquing his every decision! Stressful! On all that, Stephen added:

“We were trying to figure it out and Lauren got swept up into all of it. It’s just not who I am.”

Well, that’s easy to say… But unless it was one of those infamously scripted things, then it kind of was who he was at the time, whether he meant it or not. Wild that he isn’t taking responsibility even now…

Despite calling him out for his s**tty teenage behavior, Kristin did have a lot of nice things to say about the One Tree Hill alum! She went on to stress how “sweet” he was during the chaotic time, reassuring him:

“You were always very sweet. I don’t think you were sitting here trying to play both of us.”

This isn’t the first time Kristin has opened up about the feud. In her 2016 book, Balancing in Heels, she called out the show’s producers for forcing the other relationship onto Stephen, arguing:

“One of the most hurtful things they did was pressure Stephen to spend time with another girl from the show, Lauren, while he and I were dating. It certainly provided some juicy conflicts, but it also affected me deeply. I felt threatened.”

Wow, it sounds like it was a little scripted! Dang…

As they dip their toes back into the drama of their reality show days, the stars ultimately don’t regret sharing their personal lives on TV, no matter how wild things got. Kristin even thinks Laguna Beach made her into the woman she is today! The mom of three noted:

“I remember saying I don’t really know who I am. I don’t think I’m this girl on the show, but I know I don’t want to be this girl on the show. It made me look inward and really figure out who the heck I was. I do feel like the show made me grow up and probably get my s**t together and not make me such a little brat.”

In light of the unprecedented overturning of Roe v. Wade, the actress could no longer stay silent, taking to Instagram Tuesday to explain:

“The last few days have been hard. I’ve been searching for the right words, and reposting someone else’s didn’t feel quite right. I wanted to share my own experience with lifesaving reproductive care. Six years ago, while trying to start our family, I had an ectopic pregnancy.”

It’s more common than one would think. For those who aren’t aware, ectopic pregnancy happens when a fertilized egg grows outside of the uterus — typically in the fallopian tubes. Ectopic pregnancies cannot sustain the growing fetus and can cause serious health issues — even death in the affected women.

That’s why laws protecting abortion rights like Roe v. Wade are so important!

Lauren thanked her “prompt medical doctors” for preserving her fallopian tubes so she and husband William Tell could later go on to have “two healthy pregnancies.”

The Hills actress’ comments came just four days after the unprecedented overturning of Roe v. Wade struck down a woman’s constitutional right to have an abortion. The law was initially passed in 1973 and has protected women like Lauren in the years since, among many others. In the aftermath of the overturning, power has been turned over to individual state legislature to decide whether or not abortions shall remain legal.

The Laguna Beach star explained the reason for her inspiration to come forward with her story came after she read about another woman being in a similar situation with ectopic pregnancy post Roe v. Wade. She explained:

“Yesterday I read about a woman with this same condition having her ectopic pregnancy rupture – and facing death – while waiting for treatment because her doctor was on the phone with his lawyer out of fear of losing his medical license.”

This is the danger of abortions no longer being constitutionally protected! Lauren added that while “talking about abortion is hard” because it “divides us,” it’s important nonetheless to listen “to each other in a respectful way, especially when we disagree.” We totally agree! She continued:

“I hope someday we will be in a place where every woman has access to the healthcare she needs and the freedom to decide what happens in her own body.”

Well, we’re somehow a lot further from that than we were in 1973… Lauren wrapped up her post by acknowledging the women in her life:

“Many women in my life have had their own experiences with abortion. I am so grateful that in each case they were able to safely receive the healthcare they needed and were free to make their own decisions.”

As for now, Lauren explained to Us Weekly that she and her husband are “at capacity” with their two children and are not currently planning to have more:

“We’re so tired. That’s ok.”

While chatting with Us Weekly on Thursday, The Hills alum revealed that she ALMOST agreed to go back on the MTV hit — but ultimately decided it wasn’t right for the lifestyle she has created for herself and wants for her family. She explained:

“I shared a lot. I feel like it’s just a privilege to have my privacy [now]. I appreciate it.”

That makes sense! Her priorities are just in a different place right now!

The fashion designer, who first grew famous as a high schooler on Laguna Beach alongside Stephen Colletti, Kristin Cavallari, and Lo Bosworth, earned herself the popular spin-off The Hills in 2006. The new series following her time in El Lay while attending fashion school. After five years, she handed over her place in the spotlight to Kristin for the final season. Many of her former castmates still find themselves chronicling their lives for all to see on reality TV. So, naturally, it wouldn’t be that surprising if she wanted back in, but that’s officially off the table.

In the interview, the 36-year-old revealed that she and her husband, William Tell, briefly considered going back to The Hills to promote her various businesses on a more high-profile level, but even that wasn’t enough to convince her. The thought of getting so vulnerable for entertainment “just didn’t feel right” for their family at this time.

In fact, she says she’s now totally “done” with allowing cameras to follow her every move — and isn’t looking back. When asked if she’d consider doing any kind of television show to promote her businesses, she said candidly:

“I don’t think so. We tried a bit, it just didn’t seem right. If I’m able to do it not that way, then I’d prefer it.”

But it’s not like she can really forget about her TV stardom days! She has two sons, Liam James, 4, and Charlie Wolf, 2, who will certainly have questions when they get older. When asked if she’s shown them any clips from the show before, Lauren was clearly not ready to deal with that yet:

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. I don’t know [but] I do think about that. I’m like, ‘Oh, like when does that come up?’ I feel like [they’re] too young. It’s confusing. We’ll see way down the line.”

A conundrum for another day!

She has enough on her plate as a working momma, including her new partnership with Planet Oat Marketplace, she reflected:

“Working moms have a really hard time just setting aside time for themselves. I think that looks different from every person. I’m still figuring it out, but I’m definitely in a much better place than I was a few years ago.”

That’s great! When she needs a break from her busy life, she seeks out a good drink for a few minutes of quiet time, she added:

“It doesn’t take a lot. I just want a glass of wine and nobody to bother me. I need like 30 minutes and just leave me alone.”

Hah! Love it!
