As you no doubt know, there has been a trend recently of performers getting pelted with objects while on stage over the past few weeks. Last month, Bebe Rexha was hit in the eye with a cell phone and got a massive shiner during her show in New York City. The person who threw the device was arrested and admitted he thought it “would be funny.” There’s absolutely nothing funny about throwing an item at someone and injuring them. Then, someone stormed the stage and slapped Ava Max during a show. Kelsea Ballerini was also hit in the eye with a bracelet. Awful. Sadly, so many others have joined the list of celebs getting objects hurled at them during a concert! And now, Harry Styles is the latest victim of this terrible trend.

During his concert in Vienna on Saturday night, the 29-year-old singer was walking across the stage in between songs when suddenly an unknown object hit him directly in his left eye. Ouch! Videos captured by fans of the incident showed Harry visibly in pain, as he winced, covered his face with his hands, and doubled over. However, the As It Was artist seemed to push through it and continued to walk off-stage. You can see the moment (below):

Ugh. Stop throwing things on stage! It’s super dangerous, and no artist deserves to be treated this way. And we’re not the only ones sick of this trend!

Following the incident with Harry, people have taken to social media to say enough is enough already with throwing objects at celebrities on stage. And many pointed out that if this trend continues, they fear the way everyone gets to experience concerts will change or phones will be banned moving forward. See the reactions (below):

On Saturday, the 24-year-old singer performed at Lollapalooza in Stockholm, Sweden, and had been in the middle of his song Down Souf Hoes when suddenly someone from the crowd tried to throw an item at him on stage. What was it? Well, it turns out the object was a sex toy. Specifically, one that mimicked a vagina. When Lil Nas X saw the toy, he picked it up before jokingly asking:

“Who threw they p***y onstage?”

As we mentioned before, other celebrities weren’t as lucky as Lil Nas X when it comes to fans’ strange behavior of trying to throw something on stage. Last month, Bebe Rexha had a cell phone chucked at her face during a show in New York City, resulting in a nasty black eye. She had to be taken to the hospital, and the attacker was arrested and charged with assault. His excuse for the incident? He thought it “would be funny.” Seriously?! Not cool.

Later, Ava Max was slapped by a fan onstage. Pink was given the weirdest gifts, everything from a wheel of cheese to a fan’s late mother’s ashes. And in another incident, Kelsea Ballerini had to pause her concert in Boise, Idaho, last week after she was struck in the eye with a friendship bracelet. She addressed the incident, saying:

“Hi. I’m fine. Someone threw a bracelet, it hit me in the eye, and it more so just scared me than hurt me. We all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown, and that’s why I walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue. That’s all I ever want, is for shows to feel like a safe place for us all.”

Obviously, the latest incident with Lil Nas X turned out to be a fine. He even seemed to laugh it off. Yikes! ANOTHER musician has been injured while performing on stage!

In the latest string of artists getting attacked by fans in the audience, Kelsea Ballerini was forced to stop her show in Boise, Idaho, on Wednesday night when she was struck in the face with a flying object.

In a video of the moment, the country artist can be seen singing her hit If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too) and playing guitar when she appears to be hit near the eye. Many believe it may have been some kind of bracelet that struck her. Kelsea quickly turned her back to the audience and her band members came to her assistance, but the injury was bad enough she had to walk off stage for a few minutes!

Thankfully, it doesn’t appear as if she was severely injured since she was able to continue the show after a brief break. Still, this is so concerning! See the scary moment (below)!

A fan account on Twitter pleaded with others to stop throwing things at performers, writing about the incident:

“Guys. I know we all mean well. We all want to show Kelsea love the best way we know how, and shower her with all the gifts. But throwing things on stage where artists are already so vulnerable is NOT the move. If you can’t hand it to her, there are so many other options. Lord, give it to us! We will make sure it gets to her. But PLEASE don’t put her in danger like this. Again, I know you all mean well, but this is becoming a safety issue. We love you guys. We do. But please make it stop.”

They added later in the night:

“What we know at this point is that she is back on stage and okay. But please know that if you do this, you’re the reason why we can’t have caps on our water bottles.”

Kelsea is just the latest artist to be hurt while performing. Earlier this month, Bebe Rexha was performing in NYC when she was struck in the face by a cell phone! She had to be rushed to the hospital and the alleged attacker, who thought it “would be funny” to throw the phone, was arrested and charged with assault.

Then just days later fellow pop star Ava Max was slapped by a rogue fan who rushed her stage! WTF!

Pink has also been receiving unexpected gifts on stage, including a bag of a fan’s late mother’s ashes which was tossed to her. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this case, but it just goes to show that concertgoers are really starting to encroach on musicians’ already vulnerable spaces. Yet another pop star has been attacked by a fan while performing this week!

On Tuesday, during Ava Max‘s show in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theatre, she was struck in the face by a rogue fan who ran onto the stage while she was performing her last song of the night. In a video of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it incident, a man can be seen rushing the stage before a security guard grabs him — unfortunately, not before he was within arms’ reach of the performer and able to slap her in the face! Ouch!

Wow! Impressed she was able to keep going so seamlessly. A fan who was at the show described the incident further, writing on Twitter:

“The guy rushed on stage at the end right when the last song ended. The security guard tackled him and literally THREW him down the stairs. Wild!!! It happened so fast. You can see here she couldn’t even open her eyes but she STILL did M&G.”

In a photo alongside the message, Ava could be seen wearing a pair of sunglasses while she posed for pictures with fans.

Wow! We’re so glad she was okay. And what a professional for still meeting fans after the alarming attack!

On Wednesday, Ava took to Twitter to reassure everyone that she was okay and to explain the situation even more, saying:

“He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again. Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”

Damn!!!

Why in the world would anyone attack a performer? It’s just so awful! Good for her for banning him for life!

As mentioned, Bebe Rexha was also injured while performing on Sunday night in New York City — and her attacker is already facing major legal trouble! The In The Name of Love artist was hit in the face, just above her eye, by a cell phone during her latest performance. In footage of the fiasco, she could be seen falling to her knees upon impact as crew members came to help. Yikes! She was quickly rushed to a local hospital where she had to receive stitches for a nasty gash near her eyebrow.

Thankfully, she is doing alright now, though she’s still healing from the wound and a gnarly black eye. Not wanting her fans to be too worried about her, the 33-year-old shared two gruesome images of her injuries on Instagram, insisting, “I’m good.” Take a look:

According to a spokesperson for the NYPD via ET, “a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at a 33-year-old female performer on stage.” He has since been identified as Nicolas Malvagna from Manalapan, New Jersey, and was arrested and charged with various counts of assault and harassment for the alleged stunt. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. A judge also issued a full temporary order of protection against him. He is expected back in court on July 31.

Horrifyingly, in a complaint, officials revealed he told police his shocking motive:

“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”

His lawyer, Todd Spodek, who also worked with Anna Delvey, the con artist who inspired Inventing Anna, argued in his defense:

“Nicolas, like many other fans, was hoping to interact in some way with Ms. Rexha as the phone was returned. It was never his intention to injure Ms. Rexha in any way.”

Let’s be clear: it’s NEVER okay to physically attack a star just because you want their attention! And purposefully wanting to hit her for a laugh is despicable!
